Abstract 

The aim of this research study is to know the present standard of basic schools' curriculum planning in Sudan , and to what extent is the central planning of this curriculum planning is taking care and consideration of the local environment in North Kordofan , and to what extent is the curriculum linked to the component of the local community and the local official study activities of the curriculum . The researcher specified the problem to be studied in the main question , which is , " what is the present situation of the basic schools' curriculum planning in Sudan, and to what extent it suits the different environment of the country? The researcher used the descriptive method of research to answer the following questions :

 1- To what extent does the national curricular planning addresses the general environmental problems of the basic schools of Sudan.

 2- To what extent does the curricular content satisfies the local communities requirements? 

3- To what extent are the curricular concepts and components of the basic schools suits the culture of the local communities. 

4- To what extent are the proposed experiences and activities , which are related to the curriculum - to what extent do they suits the requirements of the local communities of the study area.

 5- To what extent do the relevant teachers' efforts of the official teaching process, and the accompanying curricular activities contribute in solving the problems of the communities of the study area.

 6- To what extent is the existing assessment procedures suits the conditions and needs of the study area communities. The researcher used the questionnaire and interviews as means of preacher for collection of the research data , and after collection of the data concerning the research community " from the both the male and female teachers of the basic school و ط phase, the total number of which was 275, who were distributed among 20 government schools, then the researcher randomly chose 100 of them. The researcher also interviewed 10 of the basic school admin staff . important results of the study included the following:

 1. The educational subject of the basic schools enable the students to understand the components of the local environment and the geography of the area in certain general aspects, but lacks the private items linked to the concerned area. 

2. The content of the curriculm concepts, activities and experiences are linked to some degree to the community needs. 

3. The role of the teachers is effective in solving the community problems, and linking the curriculum with the environment issue. 

4. The central planning has thje advantage of empowering the state to develop the education and provides its needs, but lacks some aspects when handling the local problems. The researcher’s proposals included the following: 

1. The teacher manual should contain in each educational subject some directives relevant to the different communities.

 2. The educational plans should be flexible and takes into consideration the needs of the different communities. 

3. An educational survey is to be conducted to understand the local problems and the different environment, when setting the curricula. 

4. Carrying out training courses for the teachers in the different states to enable them to effectively interact with the different local environmental problems.
